  15. questions here are actually questions about the Kermit protocol!

  17. When I did previously post one I did't get an answer (or rather didn't
  18. get an answer to the *protocol* question).  Let's see if I can get a
  19. better answer this time.

  21. I have a PC running MS-KERMIT 3.14 server to provide access to a
  22. filesystem.  The application talking to this server is a home-grown
  23. implementation of the Kermit protocols.  When the application attempts
  24. to delete a file using the "REMOTE DELETE" command I get a problem if
  25. any of the components of the filename start with a digit.  I assume
  26. this is because the backslash-digit sequence is being interpreted as a
  27. control character.

  29. Is this a bug in MS kermit or should my implementation of the kermit
  30. mangle any backslashes in remote command arguments?  If I should be
  31. mangling what rules should I be using?
